Anderson Theological College, in collaboration with Lapiye Centre for Mental Well-being, organized a special mental health awareness programme under the theme “Together We Can: Lead With Love”. The programme was held in the college chapel hall on 7th April, 2025 from 10:00am -2:30 pm.


The resource persons for the seminar was Miss Lovitoli Awomi, Counsellor & Psychologist, Founder of Lapiye Centre for Mental Well-being, Dimapur and Miss Lika Awomi, School Counsellor & Teacher.
The primary objective of the event was to create awareness about stress, mental health challenges, and overall emotional well-being of students and family of ATC with knowledge and coping strategies to lead a mentally healthy life.
The program began with a warm welcome and introduction by Mr. Kahovi Aye, Academic Dean of Anderson Theological College. The Dean highlighted the importance of mental health awareness, especially among students, faculty and staffs. He appreciated the initiative and effort taken by the college authority in organising such a meaningful event.
Session One
Topics that were covered in the first session are,
- Understanding Stress and its impact
- Importance of Mental Well-being and Awareness
- Anger Issues and Management Strategies
- Addressing Sexual Disorders & Pornography Addiction
- Kübler-Ross Grief Cycle (Grief Theory)
i. Denial of Loss
ii. Anger
iii. Bargaining
iv. Depression
v. Acceptance
This session also included interactive activities, allowing participants to engage and reflect on their personal struggles on mental health.
Session Two
Topics that were addressed in the second session are,
- Stress Management Techniques
- Personality Development Leadership Skills
- The importance of Emotional Intelligence in daily life
This session also provided practical insights and guidance on managing stress and building a healthy personality.
Session Three
In the third session, Miss Lika Awomi shared her personal journey and experience as she worked with people dealing with mental health challenges, substance abuse issues, and recovery.
She also addressed awareness on substance abuse.
A special song was presented as the conclusion to her speech.
In the fourth and final session Miss Lovitoli focused on encouraging students to overcome ego and fear and to seek help of the counsellors and experts whenever needed.
Dr. Shitovi Sumi, Principal concluded the program by handing over the certificate of appreciation, words of gratitude, and expressed heartfelt thanks to the resource persons acknowledging their efforts towards the college in promoting mental well-being.
A special prayer was offered for the guest counsellors for their valuable service to Anderson Theological College and the contribution towards mental health awareness.
The seminar was impactful, educational, and deeply encouraging for all. The college looks forward to many more such collaborations in the future.
