An Introductory Note To ATC

Anderson Theological College

ANDERSON THEOLOGICAL COLLEGE was named after Rev. Bengt Ivar Anderson, the first Missionary to Sumi Country erstwhile known as Sema Tribe.

The college is situated at Sumi Christian Centre Aizuto which was the only Christian Mission Centre for the entire Sumi tribe started by Rev. Bengt Ivar Anderson during 1937-1938.

Anderson Theological College (ATC) was established in the year 1994 for undergraduate level students. This institute offers, Bachelors of Theology (B.Th) and Master of Divinity (M.Div). The college also trains in-service pastors for updating their knowledge and skills to cope with various developing trends which perpetually challenge our churches and missions. It also offers a modular course which is designed for church leaders.

The college has affinity with Central Baptist Church and Bethel Theological Seminary in Minnesota USA tracing history of Christian mission through Rev. Bengt Ivar Anderson who hailed from Central Baptist Church and also a graduate of Theology from Bethel University. In connection to this, the college was formally inaugurated in the year 2003 by Late Dr. Clarance Bass, Professor of Systematic Theology of Bethel Seminary, Rev. Dr. John Anderson, Chuck Sorlie Youth Pastor, Audery Wheeler, Roger Wheeler from Central Baptist Church Minnesota.

Anderson Theological College

Twenty-nine  years have gone since Anderson theological College, the fruit of the SBAK Aizuto  was established in the year 1994. Today, the college stands with pride as it has inspired hundreds of students to live up to its motto, “Upholding the truth”.

With a very humble beginning, the college, as we see it today is a beautiful campus; the fruit of endless efforts of generous benefactors and the goodwill of numerous well-wishers. Anderson Theological College takes deep interest not only in the process of teaching and learning, but in the all-round development of the students by providing various opportunities for self development and various ministries opportunities practically. One of the best and unique features of ATC is that, the students here are taught strong biblical doctrines which leads to “upholding the truth”, no matter what they face in life. The administration continuously strive its best to provide maximum facilities to its students. In today’s world we are living in a fast changing complex society, every day we see and feel the presence of both challenges as well as opportunities. In this perplexed context, it all depends on every individual of how one responds to the situation with the right mindset. And in order to have right mindset we need better education, and with the entire dedicated faculty and staff, ATC is doing her best to its fraternity in pursuing their dreams.

I firmly believe that the students trained here will equip themselves and grow up to be a responsible and God fearing leaders as they go out to the SBAK churches and to the world . And by doing so, will ultimately led to the fulfilment of Jesus great commandment and contributes to the extension of God’s kingdom.

May the staffs, faculty and students continue to live a life of humility, integrity and stand strong in faith unshaken.
